Hello: The first question that I would ask is whether or not Parker becomes nervous/agitated in crowds.  If Parker is comfortable working in a crowd, and you have a family member who will keep Parker safe while you ride on the rides, then by all means take Parker.  Disney has been working closely with the Travel & Tourism Division on making the parks more accessible.  There are relief areas in every park..  Relief areas have clean-up tools located at each relief area.  Disney cast members will also set up a portable kennel upon request if you do not have a family member or some one to hold your dog while you go on a ride that isn't safe for your service dog.  However, I don't think I would be very comfortable leaving my "eyes" in a portable kennel with a stranger who may or may not keep a close eye on her.  That is just me.  Some people may be more willing to leave their service animals in the kennel and trust Disney cast members.
Leader dogs has said to use caution when taking the dogs into the parks.  There are so many things to consider.  The noise, the crowds, the rides, etc.  My personal preference on a holiday such as today would be to leave my dog at home with a friend or family member caring for his/her needs.  My dog doesn't like crowds or loud noises (especially fireworks), but that is me.
Whatever the choice you make, I hope you have a wonderful time at your first visit to Epcot.  Don't forget to try out the new GPS systems available at Guest Services.  The GPS will announce each area as you pass and provide you a little background information about that attraction.  Have a wonderful visit and a Happy New Year.

Best Regards,

Hello to all.
First aof all I wish all the best and every happiness and success to all of
you and your furry friends.
Parker, my guide dog is doing great.
So here's the question:
My brother and family are coming down and they invited me to go with them to
Epcot.
I am wondering about bringing Parker with me?
You may laugh, but though I live near Orlando I haven't gone to  the
attractions since I was a kid, too hot most of the time for me and lines
that stretch in to eternity and my fet start killing me so I'm actually
avoided it.

Anyone have experience with Epcot and their dogs, I am deciding whether   to
quote Hamlet, "to take Parker  nor not to take him that is the question.
Also, since they seem insistent on going New Years Eve it might get pretty
crowded.

So, any ideas.

All the best,

Dan Weiner and the Parker Hound

Hello Dan,

I would advise against taking Parker. I have been to the parks many times,
but I leave Jane behind. The crowds are too much for her. It is difficult to
keep people from accidentally kicking her.

Jane and I did go to Universal together one day, but it was a very low crowd
day. Most of the rides had a portable crate to place her in while I got on
the ride, so that was nice. Perhaps EPCOT has that service as well.

Unfortunately, Jane did get on the Jaws ride with me at Universal and she
was somewhat traumatized by the experience! I was told by the park personnel
that there wasn't a crate for that ride since it is mainly just a boat ride
and there would be room for Jane at my feet. In any case, after that trip, I
did not take her to the parks anymore.

Good luck and have fun!
Asli

Epcot will probably have a fireworks display.
