Hello Conventioneers,
I know we're all running around like crazy packing for ourselves and our
pooches. It's supposed to be a pretty rainy weekend, so bring your raingear!
I'm glad I still have one of the ponchos NAGDU sold a few years ago. About
this time I wish I had purchased one of those raincoats for dogs, but alas
that never happened!
For our FLAGDU meeting on Saturday, you're aware that our speaker is from
Hillsborough County's Division of Emergency Preparedness and Recovery.
Besides dealing with storms, he was a firefighter for 16 years, so he
certainly has a wealth of emergency experience we should take advantage of.
We will also hear from three training program representatives, Freedom Guide
Dogs, Guide Dog Foundation and Southeastern Guide Dogs.
Remember that we will again be selling our fund raising 50 50 tickets
throughout the convention, so please help us support your guide dog
division.
Also I know you're looking forward to examining, and hopefully bidding on,
all the goodies in FLAGDU's two auction baskets, one for people and one for
pooches.
Board members Kathy Davis and Tom Bellone will be so pleased if you stop by
the back of the room to pay your five dollar dues to FLAGDU following the
Saturday morning general session.
I'm looking forward to seeing you here in Tampa!
Warmly,
Sherrill

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise
expectations because low expectations create barriers between blind people
and our dreams. You can live the life you want! Blindness is not what holds
you bacThen you'll be eligible for the cash door prizes we'll be drawing for
at the FLAGDU meeting!
