[Fopbc] Fwd: 2010 Student Permission Forms--Braille Challenge

The 2010 Braille Invasion is  coming!  Print readers BEWARE!!
 
Attached are the STUDENT  Permission Forms.  This is how students register 
for one of the 3  regional events.  Student Permission Forms are due 
DECEMBER 4!!   Pass this along to students, parents and TVIs that you know to help 
get  students registered.  The mailing address is listed below as well as on 
 the Permission Form (in red).  The registration website for teachers,  
parents, volunteers, etc. will be available shortly.
 
The student deadline of December 4  is early for a reason.  It takes MONTHS 
of planning to put together these  3 events.  Please help students get them 
in early to ensure successful  events!
 
Remember, Braille readers of all  abilities in grades 1-12 are encouraged 
to participate.  This is a  motivational event as well as a way to recognize 
students for their hard work  and a valuable opportunity for them to meet 
role models.   

Note a change in the Sophomore  level (grades 5-6) this year: The Sophomore 
group will take the Charts and  Graphs contest instead of Spelling.  
 
E-mail if you have any  questions.  Once the website is ready, everyone 
else can register to help  out with a regional event or to attend FIMC-VI’s 
Braille Literacy  Workshop.  You don’t have to have students competing in the 
Challenge to  attend the workshop (for professional development  points!).
