Greetings fellow federationists: 

            I am gathering some information which will benefit many of us
who are struggling in these tough economic times. I would like to know if
any of you have applied or get benefits from our local social services
offices. If your answer is YES, then read on. 

Do you receive important statements or notices regarding your benefits. If
YES, are these notices in Large print or Braille. 

The state collects data if the client has a disability, whether the person
is visually impaired or blind. The notices should be send to  you in large
print or Braille. 

These benefits include Income Support Services (Temporary Cash Assistance,
Food Stamps, Medical Assistance, Temporary Disability Assistance Program

and Child Care Subsidy Programs), Public Health Services (MCHP, Prenatal,
Care for Kids, and Dental), and  Emergency Services for the prevention of
eviction and utility disconnections, Home Energy and County Rental
Assistance Programs.

If you receive any of the above services and have a difficult time keeping
up with your mail because the notice is not provided in accessible format,
Please talk with your chapter president. You can also give this information
to me.
