Subject: [Greater-Baltimore] reminder: tactile art workshop Saturday afternoon

Everyone,

There is a tactile art workshop this Saturday afternoon. Please contact me if you wish to attend. Note that participants are responsible for their own transportation.

"Dots Are Not Created Equal
Community Arts Workshop with Jenny Callahan Gallery CA
440 E. Oliver Street
Baltimore, MD 21202
Saturday, June 15, 2019
2-4pm

Join artist Jenny Callahan for a workshop to create a tactile graffiti panel that will be included in the Ways of Seeing exhibition at Gallery CA. Tactile graffiti includes images made from braille, paper, glue, clay, origami paper, paint with texture, etc. All skill levels welcome. Participants will be creating collaborative artwork viewed primarily by touch. Other senses can and will be included through multiple media, visual, audio and design skills. The artist will lead participants through the creation of the piece by sharing her own experience of navigating through information that is often redundant, off scale, or difficult to sort through. This workshop will offer an opportunity for participants to create their own tactile communication as well as learn how the quality of design in tactile and braille materials greatly impacts the users experience."
