*Biography*
Dr. Shauna Henley is a Family & Consumer Sciences Senior Agent who provides
outreach and education in Baltimore City, and the counties of Baltimore,
Carroll, and Harford. Shauna focuses on nutrition and physical activity
education but specializes in food safety. She is part of a team that
delivers food safety training to growers (GAP and FSMA’s Produce Safety
Rule), food manufacturers (Cottage Food Law, and FSMA’s Preventive Controls
for Human Food), ServSafe proctor/instructor, and has been teaching food
preservation since 2014. Shauna is an Affiliate Agent to the UMD Department
of Food & Nutrition Science, and board member to the Partnership for Food
Safety Education. Prior to the University of Maryland Extension, her
dissertation at Drexel University went viral, bringing awareness to “Don’t
Wash Your Chicken!”
