 Hi everyone,

The Maryland State Library and the Maryland State Library for the Blind and
Print Disabled are excited to be part of an upcoming collaborative event
being held by Maryland Humanities!

New York Times best-selling author Fredrik Backman will join us and our
co-hosts Frederick County Public Libraries, Curious Iguana, and Weinberg
Center for the Arts, for a virtual event to discuss his latest book, *Anxious
People*, on *Thursday, September 10 at 5:00 pm EST.*

In Anxious People, Backman drops us into the world of a failed bank robber
and the disparate group of strangers who become unwitting hostages,
offering up unforgettable insights into the human condition and a gentle
reminder to be compassionate to all the anxious people we encounter every
day.

*FREDRIK BACKMAN* is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of A Man Called
Ove, My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry, Britt-Marie Was Here,
Beartown, Us Against You, Things My Son Needs to Know About the World and
two novellas, And Every Morning the Way Home Gets Longer and Longer and The
Deal of a Lifetime. His books are published in more than forty countries.
He lives in Stockholm with his wife and two children.
