All,

As we discussed in the September President's Meeting and August Board
Meeting, each chapter and division is responsible for getting certain
counties to get White Cane Awareness Day proclamations for October 15, 2021.
Attached is a template with proposed language you can share. We got all 24
counties and the State in 2020, so let's do that again. This is
particularly important during the pandemic since blind people are not out
and about in the world as much as pre-pandemic.

Please provide a status update as to where you are on this by September 30.
Also, where a county is interested in an in-person event to present the
proclamation, please agree to it and we'll send people even if you yourself
don't live in that county.

Thanks,

Ronza

Pronouns: she, her, hers

The National Federation of the Blind of Maryland knows that blindness is not
the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.
