I have just posted an update to my HushNow script. 

Version 0.7 allows the user to select the keys to silence speech by typing them in an editBox such as 

Control-Shift 

or 

Shift-Insert 

When the HushNow key is going to be modifiers only, this key cannot be set with the hotkey manager dialog. 

Instead, a separate dialog is invoked with the control-alt-h key which can be changed with the regular hotkey manager.
