GW Micro, Inc. continues its commitment to people with low vision as it announces the new Desktop SenseView series, which is being introduced at ATIA in Orlando, FL Jan. 28 - 31.

The Desktop SenseView comes in two models: the DSV and the DSVXtra. Both models allow users to read anything at anytime in crisp, clear detail. Whether it is a newspaper, a magazine, favorite book, food labels, or instructions, the DSV and DSVXtra provide a host of features to make reading much easier. The Desktop SenseView series also lets people with low vision view photos and enjoy crafts and hobbies with many color modes, including full color, black-and-white, and enhanced positive and negative viewing modes. Either model can be connected to a PC through the VGA port, and both boast a DVI port for the best possible digital picture.

The Desktop SenseView is perfect for people with retinal degenerative diseases, such as macular degeneration, retinitis pigmentosa, cone-rod dystrophy, and more. The Desktop SenseView allows people with these types of eye diseases to be able to read small text, photos, and other material that is difficult to see.

Both models have a vast array of features, from modular components and ergonomic design to a range of flexible options that enhance usability. Easy-to-use buttons that are distinguishable by touch allow you to enlarge or reduce images in seconds, change viewing modes for easier visibility, and establish preset buttons to your favorite viewing image sizes.

You can select components to suit your personal needs. Platform or clamp-type models fit into your own space in your home, office, or wherever you choose. The reading table can separate from the monitor, and the camera module can move to the right and left positions.

DSV and DSVXtra are both available with an optional LCD monitor. You can choose either a 19" or 22"monitor. The monitor can move up, down, forward, or backward. Optimal viewing angles are assured from the tilt and swivel of the monitor.

Both models have several color combinations. Modes can be easily adjusted by using the Mode Dial Button, placed conveniently to the left of the Zoom Dial Button. With such a vast array of color modes, users can select traditional options such as true color, black and white, and negative. More unique combinations are also available, including green/black, green/pink, and red/blue-green.

The screen has eight brightness levels, easily adjusted from the Brightness Dial Button, making it easy to adjust the brightness so that it is comfortable for your eyes to read.

The XY table enables users to move the table in any direction, making it more comfortable to read or view various items, including magazines, books, or even photographs. If you would like to read line by line, the Line/Window Markers guide you with horizontal and vertical markers and windows to keep you from getting lost. To help users who want to take notes, the table can be locked into position.

The convenient Zoom Dial makes it easy for users to go from level one to level 16, providing the ability for quick magnification. The unit has two zoom modes-an optical zoom and a digital zoom. Digital zoom provides a larger magnification rate.

The DSV allows you to view either the CCTV or the PC when the DSV is connected to a PC. With the DSVXtra, the screen may be split horizontally or vertically to display both the CCTV and PC simultaneously on the same screen. This feature is especially useful for students when quoting material from books in research papers.

When placing reading material under the camera, the magnification module automatically puts the material into focus. Automatic focus can be disabled to make tasks such as letter writing easier to accomplish.

The DSVXtra also comes with date/time, voice and sound features.

With the DSV and DSVXtra, GW Micro makes it possible to see life's fine details.
