[gui-talk] iPhone, a Reality Check

The problem is that there are all kinds of people writing apps.  In
fact, community colleges are starting to teach courses in how to write
aps.  I recently heard about a 9 year old boy who is writing apps. Apple
says that they will encourage 3rd party developers to make their apps
accessible, but Microsoft has said that they do this as well, and you
know the results.

There are still so many apps that aren't accessible, or at least not
fully so, with Windows, so is there really much difference? The question
really
is: how difficult is it going to be to make the apps accessible? That
will probably determine how successful we will be in the advocacy I am
sure we will need to do in order to increase their accessibility.

Material from Apple indicates that most third-party apps will not be
accessible.  We will have to wait and see if changes can be made in
the future, but this is potentially one of the gottcha's with the phone.
