To back translate, I think that nfbtrans is the best of the lot.

Mike is right -- I would add that to literally open a BRF file, any
text editor or word processor will do, like notepad.  If you want to
back translate them, that is another matter.  I believe nfbtrans will
do this, as will other programs.
