Hi.

If you go into the paragraph dialog you will see other heading level styles.

In Word 2016, you can find it on the Home tab. As a shortcut, Press alt-H, P G.

Once in this dialog you will see a list of heading styles after pressing tab once or twice. There will be a list of them, going up to level 9.

What's odd is that, when I selected one of these styles and pressed enter to close the dialog, it didn't seem to apply the style I selected, although this may be something I did or didn't do. I'm using the Office 365 edition of Word 2016.

When I went into the dialog for customizing Word's shortcut keys I was quite surprised to discover that only heading levels 1 through 3 have assignable hotkeys. Heading levels from 4 and onward were not even included in the list of customizable hotkeys.

Word only assigned shortcuts to level 1 through 3 headings, normal text and perhaps a few other things. You have to go into a list of styles and select heading level 4 from there. How you do this probably varies from one Word version and screen reader version to another, so I can't be more specific than that.

Subject: [GUI-Talk] Making level 4 headings in word

Hi all,

I've been working with a lot of study material and making headings. I know if I use alt control 1 it makes a level 1 heading alt control 2 makes a level 2 heading and alt control 3 makes a level 3 heading.

I tried alt control 4 to create a level 4 heading but for some reason it doesn't work. Does anyone know why this is or what I need to do to create a level 4 heading. I thought I could create headings up to level 7 but so far I can't get past the number 3.

Any help would be appreciated,
Ben
