Hi Dave,

You're right, but another way is to press CTRL and 3 (numbers row) to go to
"Contacts" and then delete the name from there. You can also press
Shift/Delete to permanently delete the contact, instead of its going into
"Deleted Items."

The command to bring up the address book is control-shift-b I 
believe. You can then search for the name.
