Good evening colleagues in Federationism,

 

The Jayhawk chapter is about to launch an historic fund-raising event in the
form of an NCAA men's basketball tournament bracket winner prediction pool.
The tournament selection committee will meet on March 15 in just ten days to
announce the brackets and pairings for the four regional tournament play-off
sites and the world will be watching. Many Kansans will most certainly be
watching with bated breath as at least 2 of the 3 Kansas NCAA Division 1A
basketball programs will be invited to the big dance. It will only be a
matter of which region and how high the sede will be for KU, Wichita State
and hopefully K-State as well.

 

Now to the bracket fund-raising pool. Here's how it works. Each participant
is asked to contribute just $5 to enter your brackets on a screenreader
accessible website that was launched a number of years ago by Terry
Thompson, a former computer learning lab instructor at Independence Inc. in
Lawrence. Participants will predict the winners of 63 games that will be
played to determine the national men's major college basketball champion of
2015-16. The lucky winner based on point totals wil receive a free full body
massage from Massage Envy, which has multiple locations in Kansas including
Lawrence, the KC metro area, and Wichita. The same prize will also be
awarded to the lucky person who recruits the most participants outside NFB.
Members of the Jayhawk chapter are eligible for the recruitment award even
if they recruit outside the chapter but within the Kansas affiliate. Members
of a chapter other than Jayhawk are eligible even if you successfully
recruit participants who are members from of an NFB affiliate other than
Kansas. Needless to say, it can't hurt to pass this announcement far and
wide.

 

You may pay your $5 voluntary entry fee in one of the following ways.

(2)    You may make your tournament contribution via credit or debit card by
calling me at either 785 8413875 landline or 785 8659959 mobile. The payment
will be processed via Square R.

Participants whose payments are confirmed will receive an email with the
account creation and login instructions and a list of tiebreaking questions
and other special instructions. An informational teleconference call will
take place on Tuesday, March 17 at 7:00pm CDT to provide basic information
about the tournament bracket participation process and to answer any
questions to help everyone to feel comfortable with the process.
