Good morning everyone!

I have been asked to inquire as to whether or not anyone from the NFB would
be available and willing to join Envision regarding the White Cane Day City
Walk of Friday October 15th starting at 1pm, from the Envision on 610 N
Main st to the Law Enforcement Memorial at City Hall.

Below is the email I was forwarded that I am now passing on for you to see
who all will be in attendance along with the Envision employees. If you
have any questions or would like to confirm that you would be available to
participate, just let me know by responding to this email or giving me a

Good afternoon,

I’m excited to invite you to experience Envision’s White Cane Day next
Friday, October 15th at 1 PM.



We are hosting a walking demonstration from our Main St. Envision
Headquarters to the Law Enforcement Memorial at City Hall. We’ll be
accepting the official City Proclamation from Mayor Brandon Whipple during
the city council meeting on Oct. 12.



Walking with us on Oct. 15 will be City Council Member Cindy Claycomb,
Sedgwick County Commissioner Lacey Cruse, BlueCross BlueShield of Kansas
employees, Wichita Transit employees, and more. Vice Mayor Brandon Johnson
will meet the group outside City Hall to show support. I believe there will
be amazing photos and video opportunities!



*What is White Cane Day? **White Cane Day is a national observance in the
United States celebrated on October 15th of each year since 1964. This
important day represents travel independence and confidence for those who
are blind or visually impaired. The proclamation demonstrates how it’s
imperative to let motorists become more acquainted with travelers who had
visual impairment so that they would be extra alert in observing those
using white canes and dog guides.*
