[humanser] Jaws and SPSS

Yes. I've looked into getting a reader, but my department is reluctant to 
let it be, because the head of disability services says that Jaws can be 
used with SPSS.

Even if the paper is an independent study, you should be able to use someone
as a reader in order to fill in the required information, print out the
graphs, and describe them to you and/or tell you what the data on the screen
say.  This is not having someone "do" the paper for you, it is using a human
only as a reader.  I see this as no different than using JAWS to read the
screen.  So, you will need to know what bottons to have the reader click,
what data you need entered where, etc.  You wouldn't just give the person
data and say do this for me; you would be right there and in control.  I
hope this makes sense.  This is the way I used SPSS in grad school.

I got my masters and doctorate relying on others to do the statistical
analyses.  Try to find someone in the statistics department who will help
you out.  This stuff is so specialized and odds are, you'll never use it
again.  Maybe I was just lucky but I never had any problem finding someone
competent to do it.  You need to know what it's all about, but unless you
plan to go into research, it is a waste of time and energy.  Even if you
need to find a grad student in the stat dept.

Hi, all.

I have a paper to do for my research class. Part of it involves running data
through SPSS, and analyzing the results. Does anyone know where I can find
instructions on using Jaws with SPSS? Secondly, have any of you had
experience analyzing data that was taken from SPSS? Any pointers would be
appreciated.
