The Department of Counseling Psychology at the University of
Wisconsin-Madison invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant
Professor or beginning tenured Associate Professor, as warranted, position
beginning 23 August 2010 (Fall semester).
The Department of Counseling Psychology is dedicated to the
scientist-practitioner model, with a training mission focused on (a)
multicultural counseling competence and a social justice orientation, (b)
evidence-based practitioners, and (c) clinical and practice expertise.
Candidates should (a) hold an earned doctorate in counseling psychology or
related discipline at the time of appointment; (b) be a licensed or
license-eligible psychologist (in Wisconsin); (c) demonstrate evidence of
scholarly productivity and publication commensurate with expectations for an
Assistant or Associate Professor position at a major research university;
(d) have demonstrated competence in counseling, teaching, and/or clinical
supervision with diverse populations; and (e) support the department
mission.
The desired candidate will have a focus on clinically relevant research and
have the ability to train masters and doctoral level students to serve
culturally diverse populations in a broad range of community and/or school
settings, with expertise in one or more of the following areas: supervision,
psychology applied to schools, individual differences, and psychopathology.
Duties include research; teaching, advising, and supervising graduate
students; and providing services to the university, public, and profession.
