Hello Sandra:

There are support groups for folks with eating disorders and these can be
very instructive. If you want experience with a treatment facility, there
may be opportunities as a volunteer at one of the eating disorder clinics or
programs in your area, I've heard of one or two there.

But, eating disorders are only one of a wide variety of disorders and
conditions that may end up being of special interest to you. I'm guessing
from your job that you are becoming aware of the multiple issues that
confront folks in our communities.

Subject: [humanser] question related to response to Vejas

Hello, everyone:

In response to one of those who answered Vejas's introduction: I have
designs, in the future, of obtaining an LPC credential, so that I can work
with victims of eating disorders and their families. I dearly would have
shadowed a local counselor who sometimes works with this population, but
confidentiality concerns prevented that as a possibility. Any way around
this? Any feedback is appreciated.

Sandra
