I have not yet done this, but my sister, who is a media specialist, also
suggested to sign in a bolder marker type pen larger than normal. In this
way, when it is shrunk down to normal size, it will retain the
characteristics of a signature signed with a pen.

Digital Signatures -
Sign your name several times as you wish it to appear. Make sure you
include your professional title or initials.
You may choose to include your typed name and credentials below
Show these signatures to a light dependent person to help choose the best
one and to allign it properly.
Now scan it as a picture in your preferred format. For years I have been
using a bit map image, think that that would be .bmp
Save the image in your pictures folder.
Then, when you wish to sign a document just insert the picture.
There are more tech savy folks out there who can give you clearer
directions, but I hope this helps.
