Hello Sarah,
Thanks for the congratulation’s. I am very excited about this. This
will be my first convention, so I am even more excited.
I would be very happy to share my all experiences about the counselor
education doctoral training. I will be very happy, if blind counselors
and educators become a bigger group. I was in ACA, Montreal this year,
and there was only one blind counselor attended to the conference
beyond me as far as I learnt.
American Counseling Association haven’t made any attempt to make the
conference accessible. Even the rooms were lack of braille door signs.
I had so much frustration. When I am done with this NCE game, then I
will dedicate all my energy to put some pressure on ACA.
I am hoping to facilitate this advocacy movement within this group. I
think this division is the place for this. Maybe you have already done
something, so I will learn more in the human services division
meeting.
I would like to say thank you one more time for the support,
encouragement and warm welcomes to everybody. NBCC did reach out me
and said they will work on my request. I think this is a great
progress. Now they did step back, and said they will work on it. This
is the power of being in and having such a strong organization.
See you very soon at Orlando
