[humanser] "Conversation starter" related to the field of Human Services

I have a PhD in psychology. I got into the field because I wanted to help people live as full of life as possible help them deal with emotional issues and symptoms.  In addition to dealing with mental, emotional, psychological problems I want people to understand that counseling and psychotherapy can be used just for personal growth.  I believe that some of the stigma related to mental illness comes from previous treatment of persons with mental illness in a sane asylum's and also some of the other history such as the Tuskegee experiment which has led to miss trust of psychologist, counselors and other mental health professionals.
