Sorry I missed the meeting yesterday. 
My grandmother passed away in the morning hours. 
What did I miss? Will you be attending Oktoberfest?
Also, would I be able to give you my registration information and check if you're attending? 
Lastly, I will be contacting the schools I want to visit tomorrow morning. 
Please let me know if there's anything in particular I should mention in my phone conversation.
