[Iabs-talk] Referral for patients losing vision

I just sent the below to my eye Dr.   Thought others might want to do the 
same.

Dr. ___:

Per our discussion this morning, I am sending you information about the
largest organization of visually impaired and blind persons in the United
States.  With more than 50,000 members, the National Federation of the Blind
is a great referral for eye doctors when vision loss occurs.

Our state affiliate is strong.  The phone for our state affiliate is:  773
307 6440.  The e-mail is: president at nfbofillinois.org.  We provide
networking, training, advocacy and most of all a positive philosophy about
vision loss.  Blindness can be reduced to a nuisance with proper adaptive
techniques.  Help us do that by referring your patients to people who
already cope well with vision loss.

I have attached fliers regarding our at large chapter and our student
chapter.  The at large chapter meets via tele-conference and is a great
option for those just beginning to learn about their choices.

We are also happy to do inservices for eye doctor's offices.  For more
