[Iabs-talk] IABS meeting (Resolutions ideas; Ice Breaker)

Hi everyone, looking forward to the IABS board meeting
Sunday at 7. (641-715-3273 code IABS).

I would like to see if I can put together at least one resolution for our
state convention, and will bring it up at the meeting. NFB resolutions are
a bit like statements or affirmations of our policy (at least in the sense
that a philosophy is made more concrete or applied to life with a policy,
and a policy is applied to specific times, conditions, events with
resolutions).
Really, though, a resolution names or declairs a specific thing we intend
to or commit to achieve (usually in the form of a simple argument or case
for our point of view on a particular thing plus a call upon a leader,
politician, organization or the like, to act or respond according to what
we explained). I am hoping to see what the IABS students think are
important things that can and should be *resolved *in life, education,
society, etc. and could be pinned down to a specific request or something
we would *resolve *to do. So, you students, I hope you can think of some
things that matter a lot to you to share or discuss at the meeting. By the
way, for some examples, here's a link to the resolutions voted on at
National Convention this July:

Also, since we usually start IABS meetings with an ice-breaker, I think,
given the important date, we could ask each other "where were you on 9-11"?

Talk to you guys on Sunday, and if you know a blind friend, especially a
student, feel free to invite them to call in too (the number and
conference-code is at top).
