Good Morning All,
I am just sending a friendly reminder about a program item from the National
Federation of the Blind of Illinois.
The Advocacy committee and the Diversity and Inclusion Committee of the
National Federation of the Blind of Illinois are hosting a topic on
microaggressions on May 19 at 7 PM CDT. Our presenter will be Janice Glenn
Kershaw, NFB Talent Development Coordinator.
We know that microaggressions occur against blind people every day. See the
article in the February Braille Monitor. But microaggressions happen to
people from various backgrounds and cultures based on: race and ethnicity,
sex, gender identities, religion, ETC.
So, What are microaggressions?
What if anything do we do when they occur?
How do we limit our own microaggressions we might commit against others?
