Debbie and All,
While it is true that the NFB and the Law School Admissions Council had
scheduled meetings with the goal of negotiating a solution to the lack of access
for blind people, LSAC canceled those meetings and did not reschedule them.

As ever, negotiating a settlement during pending litigation is possible and
may result in the outcome we want. For now, we all will have to stay tuned.

Suit Says Law Admissions Group Canâ?Tt See Its Anti-Blind Bias

The National Federation of the Blind and a blind law school applicant sued
the Law School Admission Council last week, charging that its Web site,
essential to those preparing for the Law School Admission Test, is
inaccessible to blind people, effectively blocking them from law school.
Web sites can be â?otaggedâ? so that blind people can use software to
navigate
and obtain information, but the suit charges that the law school site lacks
this necessary tagging. Joan Van Tol, general counsel for the law school
group, told The National Law Journal that she was disappointed that the
National Federation for the Blind sued â?owhen we fully expected to address
their concerns through productive meetings.
