If it were me I would just pretend I don't see them, and go my 
way.  Don't make eye contact, act like you are totally blind, and 
they can't fault you for not moving.  Yes, people sometimes have 
adverse comments about us and our canes etc., and you just have to 
grin and bear it sometimes.
