[il-talk] Low-cost computer

And now, having said that...I will say that. My post was intended as food
for thought, not to provide a forum to debate the merits or XP versus 7. And
this list is not really the venue for that.
I'm finished with my part in this discussion.

There is still a lot of xp pro. I have it. Nobody talks about that flop
called Vista. Xp pro is probably ms most stable operating system that I've
seen. I have played with 7 and it has a big learning curve for me. I don't
like the look of it.

You guys, remember one thing--XP Pro is outdated technology. Windows 7 has
been out for a few years. And Windows 8 is in the works. I cannot help but
wonder how much longer Microsoft will support XP.

Eric,

Are you in Chicago? If so, the guys at Chicago Surplus Computer could be
your answer with reliable and fully functional Pentium 4 desktop computers
for $85 cash. This includes a keyboard, mouse and power cord.

If you are in Los Angeles, check with the folks out in California for leads.
They may have something similar.

Kelly
