Hi Everyone,

I had a bad thing happen to me recently that I am trying to correct:

My accountant directed the IRS to debit funds from the wrong account, an account which had insufficient funds it turned out.  I figure this will get fixed with some hassles, but I did experience some side effects from this already.  Some companies where I had submitted my resume must have checked my credit score or something without a formal application for a job.  Further, I had never given them permission to do this or my SSN.  

Needless to say, I'm pretty upset about all this.  Do I have any means to identify the companies that looked into my credit score without a formal job application or any legal remedy to prevent this error that never should have occurred to be addressed on my credit score?
