This is Scott White, Director of Sponsored Technology Programs for the
National Federation of the Blind. I wanted to write to make you aware of a
current opening for the Manager of Marketing/Outreach for Sponsored
Technology Programs at the National Center. Please see below for more

Manager of Marketing/Outreach for Sponsored Technology
Description:
Under the supervision of the Director of Sponsored Technology Programs the
Manager of Marketing / Outreach for Sponsored Technology will have the
primary responsibility for widespread adoption of the NFB-NEWSLINE(r)
service throughout the United States. The manager will perform
marketing/outreach activities for NFB-NEWSLINE to state sponsors, current
subscribers, potential subscribers, and other stakeholders in the print
disabled community. Additionally the manager will also assist the Director
of Sponsored Technology with other sponsored technology activities as
needed.
Responsibilities:
Develops and updates all NFB-NEWSLINE promotional material
Assists the Sponsored Technology team with the distribution of NFB-NEWSLINE
promotional material
Assists the Sponsored Technology team with training sponsors on the use of
promotional items and basic sponsorship logistics
Develops/implements marketing plans for NFB-NEWSLINE and tracks their
effectiveness
Researches potential funding sources and prepares grant proposals when
appropriate
Provides leadership to sponsors / potential sponsors in development of
proposals for funding
Recommends NFB-NEWSLINE feature enhancements and initiatives to the Director
of Sponsored Technology based on sponsor/subscriber feedback
Builds partnerships with sponsors and other stakeholders in the blindness
community relating to marketing/outreach of NFB-NEWSLINE
Prepares communications to sponsors and subscribers, including newsletters
Prepares communications to the media such as press releases
Exhibits NFB-NEWSLINE at conferences attended by potential subscribers and
other stakeholders in the print disabled community
Plans and conducts trips for the purpose of NFB-NEWSLINE marketing/outreach
across the country as needed
Assists the Sponsored Technology team with the planning and conducting of
sponsor/subscriber training sessions
Skills Required:
Ability to set priorities and establish work routines independently
Ability to execute multiple tasks efficiently and effectively
Ability to self-manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
Excellent oral and written communication
Ability to learn quickly
Ability to conduct oral presentations to small and large groups
Ability to communicate well with a wide variety of people and to trouble
shoot problems
Knowledge, or ability to acquire knowledge, through independent research on
stakeholders in the print disabled communitywith respect to
marketing/outreach of NFB-NEWSLINE
Demonstrated skill in use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel,
Access, Power Point, and Outlook
Ability to perform basic computer tasks required for the efficient operation
of a business office
Ability to efficiently and effectively conduct Internet research to extract
relevant concise details on the subject matter being investigated
Ability to analyze a volume of information and present only the important
key concepts.
Education:
A High School diploma is required. Other combinations of education and
experience demonstrating qualifications to perform the work will be
considered.
Comments:
Some out-of-state overnight travel is required.
