Eric, upon reflection, I think it probably has less to do with being blind
as not having as many public transportation vehicles available and not
having them run as frequently. People have simply become more aggressive.
People are also not as aware of their surroundings with the use of cell
phones, etc. And we live in tough economic times, which may bring out the
worst in people.
I also firmly believe that some people do not know what a white cane it.

Connie, nowadays, people are out for No. 1.  I say this, because I, too,
have been pushed on trains _and buses.  Sometimes they think it's a game. 
But I don't!  I excuse myself.  If they're forceful enough, I startle them.
