[il-talk] sad news

Connie and I definitely became closer as friends over the last couple of
years. We both enjoyed talking and the running comment was that we could
never have a short conversation.
She also had very high standards for the newsletter. I remember her saying
after submitting many articles, Dave, I love you, but can you make it a
little shorter. I was happy to know that I actually succeeded in this last
newsletter issue. She also had an interesting sense of humor. Several
months ago during a social time, I asked Denise if she was again enjoying a
glass of Vincendel, having intentionally mispronounced the type of beverage
Denise was drinking. Without hesitation, Connie asked Denise if she should
slap me or if she, Denise wanted to have the pleasure of doing so.
Seriously, Connie's loss means big shoes for the rest of us to fill.

In remembering Connie I think of how excited she was about new and/or
younger members. She loved fostering those new to the federation family.
Connie and I had many long talks. She was really courageous and I really
miss her already.
Got to laugh a little too? Connie sounded like the school teacher she was
when shushing us up. I can hear her say "I can wait as long as you can."
We love her much.

me feel really a part of the NFB family! She will be missed. In just a
short time, I found out how caring andd nice she was!
