[il-talk] Protected View

Hi Debbie. Another thing you can do to get out of protected view is the following: after you open up your word file, it's control close down arrow. You will hear jaws Start to read the file. Hit the control key to silencejaws. Next, hit control plus apps. He will be in a dialogue has the enable saving button. That's where you want to be. You can either cab to the enable saving button and hit enter, or you could simply hit alt plus E to enable saving. After this is complete, you may now save the file anywhere you want on your computer. Of what I understand, I think Microsoft word 2010 has its files go into protected view some having to do with viruses. I'm not sure. I had problems with it first but was able to figure it out. Hope this helps.

Once I'm in the file I can tab down and find a place where it says "Enable." When I hit Enter on that, I can read the file with JAWS. Who knows why this happens, but at least now I can read attachments again!

I noticed a lot of exchanges on the list in the past few days about something called "protected view" that affected the ability to read attachments in Windows Seven, but since I never had the problem, I paid no attention. Well, now here I am. From one day to the next, Protected View has descended upon my computer. I am unable to read attachments, or in fact to read any Word document at all. I hate to ask this question again since I know it has been addressed so recently, but help will most truly be appreciated, on or off list.
