[il-talk] cell phone carrier question

For me, the deciding factor is price. I use T-Mobile with my iPhone
and pay less than $30 a month for unlimited data, text and 100 minutes
of voice calling a month. Additional minutes are a penny a minute
with calling apps using the iPhone’s data connection. Verizon may
have great customer service, but I am unwilling to pay three times the
price of what I am paying with T-Mobile for happy talk and hand
holding.

In relation to reception, T-Mobile has spectrum licenses at the higher
end of the cell phone band. Verizon and AT&T have frequencies at the
lower end. In general, the lower frequencies can penetrate walls,
buildings, and structures better than the higher frequencies.

Again, I can accept this for the savings. Premium reception means
premium prices. I can hear my callers very well with T-Mobile.

I am putting the finishing touches on an article for blind Bargains
describing strategies on how to enjoy the iPhone on the cheap.

Kelly
