There are a few companies that make keyboard overlays that you can put on your iPhone. I know a few blind friends that like that. 

I do find using just the regular iPhone keyboard. If you turn in landscape the keyboards even bigger. 

I use a small Bluetooth keyboard that slides in my jacket pocket when I want to use a bigger size keyboard.
