I took Hadley’s class on adaptive technology and markers and found that quite beneficial.

See: Using Raised Markers <http://www.hadley.edu/showCourseDetail.asp?courseid=URM-101>

That might be something to offer to this lady as an additional resource. It covers many of the topics that were mentioned.

They also had an interesting seminar on the use of a Microwave Oven.

See: Independent Living - Cooking <http://www.hadley.edu/showCourseDetail.asp?courseid=LIV-141>

She has just lost her vision for the second time and needs to learn the microwave and the like. She lives near Joliet. Please contact me offlist at pattischang at gmail.com if you can help with this. Thank you.

P.S. Text the word BLIND to 85944 to donate $10 to the NFB Imagination Fund via your phone bill.

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. You can have the life you want; blindness is not what holds you back.
