I know that many on this list who attended ISVI have had Marie as a
music teacher.

Shaker, Marie S., 83, of Jacksonville, formerly of Flint, Michigan, died
Monday, Feb. 2, 2015, at Heritage House in Illinois.
Visitation 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 W.
Hill Road, Flint, Michigan. A Memorial Service will be held at a later
date in Jacksonville. Burial at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu
of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shaker Hemophilia/AIDS Fund
through the Hurley Foundation.
Marie was born in Flint, Michigan, on May 20, 1931, the daughter of
George and Rose Shaker, and was a resident of the Flint area and Grand
Blanc for 30 years before moving to Jacksonville in 1961. She received a
bachelor's degree in 1953 from Eastern Michigan University and in 1954 a
master's degree from Michigan State University, where she also had 30
hours towards her PhD. Miss Shaker taught music at St. Michael's
Catholic School in Flint, Holy Family Catholic School in Grand Blanc and
for 33 years at the School for the Visually Impaired in Jacksonville.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews. special friends, Vickie Mullis
and Linda Strader, both of Jacksonville; She was preceded in death by
her parents; two sisters, Victoria Caroselli and Madeline Shaker; four
brothers, Cabelin, Edward, Phillip and Judge James Shaker; two
sisters-in-law, Norma and Audrey Shaker.
