Kris Smith has been an integral part of the IDHS team, serving in various roles at the Division of Rehabilitation Services, over the last 13 years, and it is my great pleasure to announce that Kris has been promoted to Director of DRS! Over the last 4 years, Kris has served as both Deputy Director and Acting Director, and her promotion to Director comes as a result of the excellent work she’s done over these years. 

 

Throughout her time with DRS, Kris has shown tremendous competence and she truly exemplifies what leadership is at IDHS. The knowledge, background and experience she brings with her to this position make her the ideal choice to lead the Division of Rehabilitation Services and help the Illinois Department of Human Services become a model for rehabilitative services. 

 

I’m proud to have Kris as part of my team and I know that the Division, and the Department, are fortunate to have her. Join me in congratulating Kris Smith on her new position!
