[il-talk] How has the NFB impacted you

The NFb has impacted my life in many ways.  Even though I have had my ups 
and down in life, I have done some positive things to further spread the 
positive message of the National Federation of the Blind.  Having the 
message of positive reinforcement given to me over the years, I finished a 
long overdue and well deserved college degree.  I have had the encouragement 
and support to develop some career interests.  Along with some other changes 
I make in life today, I have the "Yes I can" idea in my life to carry out 
any mission I want to live the life I want.

Throughout my life, I knew I could, or at least, I thought I could succeed
in a career that involved being a musician in some way.  For much of that
time, I had my doubts that I could succeed in an endeavor that was
non-musical.  Though this activity did not earn me income, my involvement in
NewsLine as a state coordinator and a channel administrator gave me the
confidence to realize that I could succeed in something that was not
musical.

What the NFB has done for me? The NFB has helped me gain independence.
Having independence gives me conference to keep moving forward. Gina Falvo
