Hi All,

Hope everyone is well.  I'm writing to ask for a bit of help.  I've been
pretty ill the last few months, and I've had two surgeries in the last month
on my back.  In fact, I came back to Chicago after Convention, and my doctor
is not permitting me to travel back to Maryland until we get my back pain to
a manageable place.  I'm not very ambulatory, unfortunately, but I'm hoping
the second surgery might help.  

 

I could use some positive vibes sent my way.  I'd also ask you all to work
with families and kids who are blind but have usable vision so this doesn't
happen to them.  My doctors are certain that most of my back problems
originated from the way I leaned forward so I could read print throughout my
childhood and early adulthood.  Bottom line: bring a blind kid's face
forward to a couple inches of where the book or desk is will have painful
consequences in the future.
