Subject: MOST CURRENT INFO RE: Temporary Closure-Damen Entrance at IMD
Station Beginning Mon., Feb. 6, 2017

Hello Everyone:

Please share the information below regarding the Illinois Medical District
Blue Line Station. DISREGARD THE PREVIOUS E-MAIL SENT EARLIER TODAY AS THIS
VERSION CONTAINS ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REGARDING BUS TO RAIL (OR
VICE/VERSA) TRANSFERS.

_________________________________________________________________

Construction is continuing at the Illinois Medical District Blue Line
Station with the second phase of rehabilitation work calling for the
temporary closure of the Damen Stationhouse, Concourse and portion of the
platform.

The closure will begin on Monday, February 6, 2017 and last for
approximately 3 months. No access to the Damen Stationhouse or Concourse
will be provided to the general public.

NOTE: Although the Damen entrance will be closed the stations remains
accessible for people with disabilities through the newly refurbished
entrance at Paulina (accessible entrance, ramp to platform, etc.).

Signage will be provided to notify customers throughout the IMD Station and
surrounding area.

Please note that although a bus reroute on the #50 Damen bus route is not
required, customers transferring from bus-to-rail (or vice versa) will be
impacted by the Damen entrance closure. These customers need to walk to the
Ogden entrance, which is approximately 1,200 feet or to the accessible
Paulina entrance, which is approximately 2,250 feet from Damen. An
alternative to walking to the Paulina entrance, if accessibility is
required, would be to transfer to the #7 Harrison (weekdays) or #126 Jackson
(weekends and weekdays late evening).

The IMD Rehabilitation Project will require additional entrance closures to
the station in the future in order to complete the necessary work. Future
dates and durations for these closures will be forthcoming. I will strive to
provide enough notice prior to these closures as information becomes
available to me.

Thank you

Access Benefits Everyone!
