This should be a great opportunity for those wishing to see A Christmas
Carol, as well as experiencing a touch tour and audio description for the
same play.

Hi Mr. Meyer-We offer an audio described and touch tour performance for all
of our shows, including A Christmas Carol (AD/TT for this show is 12/3/17
for the 2pm). The link below will take you to the date listing for these
shows-not all of our plays are family-friendly however, but mostly for high
school age and above. Aside from audio description, we have large print and
braille programs available at our Guest Services desk for all dates. Please
feel free to share this link as you see fit. Thank you for your email, and
we hope to see you at theatre!

To Whom it may Concern:

I just received an email talking about a special performance of A Christmas
Carol for families of children with autism. This is indeed a fine idea.

What I am wondering is whether or not there might be a Saturday when audio
description, a touch tour or both accommodations might be available for
blind children, adults, or families with blind children?

Two years ago, the National Federation of the blind of Illinois Freedom Link
Program came and saw this production. We were offered braille programs,
audio description and a touch tour. Everyone who viewed this performance
came away with a better understanding of the intricacies of putting on this

Whether we would be able to view A Christmas Carol again, will depend on the
students and adult mentors of the program. Nevertheless, even if we as a
group are unable to attend a performance, I'm reasonably certain that with
aggressive marketing, there will be plenty of blind children and adults who
would take advantage of this opportunity.

Thank you for your consideration of this matter.

Best Regards,

David Meyer, National Federation of the Blind of Illinois

Freedom Link Coordinator production, and a better appreciation of the
production itself.
