SUBJECT               :               Issues impacting BARD

 

NLS has become aware that there are current system wide technical issues
that may slow attempts to download books and magazines through BARD. NLS is
working with the appropriate Library of Congress offices to resolve these
issues. Please let patrons who inquire know that the problem is being
addressed. 

 

Unrelated to the download issues, the Library of Congress will conduct a
planned power outage from 5 p.m. ET on Friday, August 9, through Sunday,
August 11, during which most of the Library's public websites, including NLS
BARD and the NLS public websites, will be unavailable. Downloads to personal
smart devices will continue to be playable during this time, but patrons
will not be able to download new material.
