Part-Time Job Opening: Wellness Coordinator 

Description: The Wellness Coordinator works closely with residents of Friedman Place – all of whom are blind and have a range of health problems - with responsibilities including scheduling doctor and other health-related appointments, arranging and (periodically) providing transportation to and from appointments, supporting the selection of insurance plans and certain public entitlements, etc. The Coordinator will work 20 hours per week with the specific work schedule being flexible and negotiable, but between Mondays – Fridays 9:00am – 5:00pm.  

Compensation: $14 - $16 per hour, depending on skills and experience. Friedman Place limited benefits for part-time staff but for this part-time position does provide 10 paid days off per year – plus paid holidays when they fall on a scheduled work day – starting immediately.  

Social Worker / Navigator Wanted 

For Adults who are Blind or Visually Impaired

Description: This full-time position has two primary areas of responsibility. For two days per week the individual will provide a range of assessment, counseling, case management, life-skills training, and related services to residents of Friedman Place, a community for adults who are blind or visually impaired. The remaining three days will be spent providing a broad range of case management, referral, and linkage services to people who are blind or visually impaired living in the community (i.e., other than at Friedman Place). These services will be provided one day each week from Friedman Place, one day from an office in Chicago’s Loop, and one day in the field.  

Compensation: $36,000 - $50,000 per year, depending on skills and experience. Friedman Place provides a generous benefits package including heavily subsidized health, dental, and vision insurance, licensure reimbursement, educational reimbursement, retirement contributions, 20 paid days off – plus paid holidays – to new full-time employees, etc.
