We would so appreciate it if you could forward the below casting call to your members at the National Associate of the Blind Illinois.  IL ABLE is seeking people with disabilities of all ages (infancy to senior citizens) disability type etc. to be models for the new IL ABLE website that is in development.  This is a chance for real members (not professional models) of the Illinois disability community to help raise awareness and build greater independence and inclusion for people with disabilities.

Are you a person with a disability who is interested in modeling? Or do you support someone with a disability who would like to be a model?

Illinois ABLE will soon have a new website and promotional materials to help inform eligible individuals with disabilities and their families about the many benefits of saving through an Illinois ABLE account. We are seeking models with disabilities of all ages, gender, disability type, and ethnicity to represent the diversity of disability in Illinois.

We will host photo shoots in Chicago on Monday, March 9th and Springfield on Tuesday, March 10th. Specific photo shoot locations will be determined at a later date.

Selection preference will be given to ABLE account owners. Space is limited. Not every applicant will be selected to participate. 

Please fill out the application here no later than Monday, March 2nd, and provide an optional photo of the model. Models will receive $300. Participation will require travel to either Chicago or Springfield at the participant’s own expense.

Selected participants will be notified via email or phone. Applicants will NOT be notified if they have not been selected. Each participant or his/her/their legal guardian will be required to sign a waiver of liability prior to participation.

If selected, participants may appear on the Illinois ABLE website, social media channels, brochures, and/or in promotional ads for Illinois ABLE.

PLEASE NOTE: Participant selection is at the sole discretion of the Office of the State Treasurer and Illinois ABLE (“Treasurer”) and such selections are conclusive unless clearly contrary to law. The odds of being selected will vary based on the number of applicants and the Treasurer expressly disclaims any guarantee of participation.

The Illinois ABLE Plan is a Member Plan of the National ABLE Alliance and is designed to qualify as a qualified ABLE program under the provisions of Section 529A of the Internal Revenue Code. The Illinois ABLE Plan is sponsored by the State of Illinois and administered by the Office of the Illinois State Treasurer. Ascensus College Savings Recordkeeping Services, LLC (“ACSR”) serves as Program Manager for Illinois ABLE. Ascensus Investment Advisors, LLC (“AIA”) serves as the Administrator of a trust (the “Trust”) established to provide for the investment and reinvestment of the assets of Member Plans that participate in the National ABLE Alliance. Accounts in Illinois ABLE are not guaranteed or insured by the State of Illinois, the Illinois State Treasurer, the National ABLE Alliance, ACSR, AIA, Illinois ABLE, or the Trust. The Checking Option offers Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation insurance up to $250,000, subject to certain restrictions.

Illinois taxpayers may deduct up to $10,000 for an individual, $20,000 for married taxpayers filing jointly, per tax year on their Illinois state income tax return, for their total combined contributions to the Illinois ABLE Plan.  The individual and jointly filed limits on deductions will apply to total contributions regardless of whether the contributions are made to a single account or to more than one account.

Before investing, investors should consider whether their home state offers any state tax or other benefits that are only available for investments in such state’s qualified ABLE program and they should consult their legal, tax or financial advisor regarding their specific situation.
