do preparing to lead a Toastmasters contest tomorrow.

This is the reason why I was not able to make the Midwest student seminar but it was totally worth it. Michael did awesome and we are very proud of him. Hi Sharon. Well yeah, if you put it that way. The audience was me, Andy, the orchestra director, and the judge. And the ironic thing is that all of us in the room have studied with the same teacher for Suzuki training. So I guess he was lucky to have an audience that knew him well. But he will be playing this again on May 12 at the orchestra concert at his school. So he will have a big  audience then. This was good for him because it was like a little warm-up. And then the judge worksedwith him afterwards. She was very nice and an excellent cellist. She graduated from Eastman just like I did and she has a very beautiful cello.

Actually we did have to go to the high school. And then he had the experience of warming up in the warm-up room where there's a whole bunch of other people warming up at the same time. And then, he had to go to another room and play. It all brought back memories of when I did solo and ensemble.  Thanks for your kind words. He actually got a one and everything and one is the best score that you can get. Ironi ironically, Michael was also the only sixth grader that participated in the contest. And back when I did it, I was the only one from beginner orchestra who participated. I was only in third grade at the time.

Very nice job. His intonation was really quite good. What amazed me the 
most was when his intonation got a bit off track at one point, he had 
the presence of mind to make the necessary correction. Great job for 
both of you.

Actually we did have to go to the high school. And then he had the experience of warming up in the warm-up room where there's a whole bunch of other people warming up at the same time. And then, he had to go to another room and play. It all brought back memories of when I did solo and ensemble.  Thanks for your kind words.
