[IL-Talk] Where do people get a license to put their hands on us?

Hi Patti and all:

One time when I was getting off a train at the Ogilvie Center, I walked up
to the steps going down into the Suburban Concourse from the platform. As
usual, I was slowly approaching the steps. Just as I was about to grab the
railing and step down, someone grabbed my arm. I pulled away from him and
he said, I was just trying to make sure you didn't fall down the steps. I
said, what you did could have caused me too.

Ok, worst time ever. I was boarding a train and a man grabbed me and I
missed my step because he pulled my arm back which caused me to lose my
footing and my leg ended up down between the platform and the train. Hit
really hard on the edge of the platform and scared me b/c if the train had
taken off, I would have been seriously injured.

Not okay - creepy - dangerous.

I thought they think we're like furniture or something. You know so they
think it's okay. And sometimes I just tell him to get their hands off me.
Sometimes I just have to get away from them. Jerk away from him if I have
to. And I don't have time to educate most times because when they do that
stuff I'm very agitated. The smart ones can catch on but otherwise you have
to kind of just do what you can.
