Hi all,

 

I wanted to let you know that more devices are being sent out by the Utah
Library for the Blind. Yesterday I got a cartridge with the generic label
'audiobooks' which I didn't understand because I got an error when I tried
using it with my NLS player. When I called the library, they told me that if
the cartridge you receive doesn't play than the cartridge contains Braille
files. The person pointed out that most cartridges had been printed with the
same Braille label so at some point people will get correctly labeled
cartridges. We are getting the Humanware model which is great for people who
already use a display like the Mantis or Brailliant. I attended an NLS
presentation where they said they want to make the devices available in
every state by the end of the year. If people have questions, they can call
the Utah Library at 800-453-4293. I was told my device was sent so I am
anxious to see how it works.
