I think those SSA representatives just have little scripts to follow anyway. Just like tier 1 tech support people.

The important thing to remember is for us to know what the regulations are and to be able to correct them since they clearly don’t know what their own regs are. It is also important for us to know what we can deduct for the same reason as above. I went as far as bookmarking exactly what can be deducted. So that I can easily go back to it.

You also fill out a blind work expense report every so often and that takes more money off that you can earn.  You can use it for transportation, medicine, food, clothing, if you have a service animal, etc.  My friend has done this and your benefits aren't taken away.  Hope this helps.
